EAST VIEW WINS GRAND PRIZE IN NATIONAL HEALTHY HIGH SCHOOL CHALLENGE
and $5000 for the
EVHS Student Council!

Thanks to the efforts of our excellent cafeteria staff, led by Ruth Sigler, East View not only rose to the challenge of making our cafeteria food both nutritional and tasty, they also won the nation's top honor in the Sodexo Healthy High School Challenge!  The Sodexo Healthy High School Challenge is a national initiative encouraging students to make healthy food choices.
Students earned points for East View when they purchased healthy combo meals, snacks and beverages.  Sodexo tracked the healthy food choices students make at participating high schools across the country during a six-week period in November and December. Sodexo is using the excitement of a national challenge featuring cash prizes to get students to make healthy food and drink choices at our school and outside of school. In addition to the healthy benefits realized by choosing nutritional lunches, EVHS's Student Council will also receive a check for $5000.  Thanks to the cafeteria staff for assuring that EVHS has a healthy student body, both nutritionally and financially!
Student Council Sponsors Amber Browning and Amanda Fishel are doing a tremendous job with EVHS's first Student Council and will use the money to supplement on-going programs that benefit the whole school.
